Susie Mendelsohn, PSY.D.
Susie Mendelsohn, Psy.D, MS, MPS, is a doctor of clinical and forensic psychology holding a professional license in the state of Florida since1999.
As a clinical investigator she conducted Field Trials in Routine Clinical Practice Settings.for the DSM-5 (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth edition.) She penned the book, "It's Not About the Weight: Attacking Eating Disorders From the Inside Out", which was published in March, 2007. She also contributed a chapter entitled, "Let's Talk" in "101 Interventions in Group Therapy" by Scott Simon Fehr .
Dr. Susie has been an expert in the treatment of eating disorders since 1994. She has conducted eating disorder workshops and retreats for her patients in addition to organizing and implementing community fundraisers and vigils to raise money for national eating disorder organizations.
Dr. Susie is a practical, interactive and solution-focused psychotherapist. Her treatment approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help her patients resolve current challenges as well as long standing maladaptive patterns of thoughts and behaviors.
Dr. Susie incorporates a blend of therapeutic approaches, drawing upon a variety of styles and techniques to incorporate what will be most beneficial for each client - hence customizing the treatment plan and therapeutic intervention for each client. Her passion to educate, guide and collaborate with her patients' families and treatment team members is unsurpassed for continuity of care.
